Creativity
[kree-ey-tiv-i-tee, kree-uh-]
noun
1. Something that generates a new idea, insight or solution through imagination rather than through logic or reason.

DO YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU'RE CREATIVE?

Most people would say, "No, I haven't got a creative bone in my body."

But that's actually not true. We use our creativity every day, from what we choose to wear, to what we buy for ourselves and our surroundings, to whenever we're making something from nothing, like cooking a meal, planting a garden, writing an essay, organizing an event, a room, or a mess. We're not conscious of it, but in these endeavours, the right half of our brain, the creative side, is always involved. We use only a tiny fraction of the creative potential that exists inside of us.

As the late education guru, Sir Ken Robinson said: "We've been educated out of our creativity." It's become a very passive energy, that lies deep within humans, buried under layers of fear. We're equally a competitive and a conformative culture, and often our creative ideas are half baked inklings not fully formed, and so we're afraid to express them. If you're getting judged, or marked, you're probably not going to put forth that half-baked inkling. But, that thing in your unconscious that spoke to you,.. that's the tiny, intuitive, creative voice within, the thing that always instinctively kicks in when you're presented with a problem. That's what we want to grab, and show you how to nurture and develop it to be a stronger, more active, confident voice.
